back to december
Manila, 6 December—How did you feel about reaching the first Friday of the last month of the year? I don’t know how to feel either. The general stress of the last stretch of Q4 has me quite preoccupied, and I can’t believe we’re already looking at some events for January 2021. Has it really been almost a year since I was last in Cebu for Sinulog?
This year has felt a lot like a not-year—an in-between that sort of did not exist. But I admit this year has its highlights. Among them: This weekend, we accompanied my sister in adopting her very first cat from Cat Crusaders, a group of volunteers in our neighborhood who take care of the community cats, feeding and fostering them so they would get off the streets and get adopted. (Had it not been for our own building’s pet restrictions, we definitely would have already gotten one, but alas.)
Thankfully, my sister’s building allows pets, and she has finally decided to adopt—during our visit at the foster home, a black kitten chose her. She took him home and aptly named him Lucipurr. It was a match made in heaven hehe.
If you’re looking to add a furry member to your family, consider adopting! This group is really active in feeding the community cats and raising funds for those they find to be injured or in urgent need of adoption. They’re also actively rescuing those in dangerous spots so adoption is also a way of helping them make room for more fosters. They’re currently based in Makati and Cebu.
We take our bright spots where we could; this year has them, despite its bleakness—new music, new series, new reads, new games, new BTS content every single day (LOL). What bright things has 2020 showed you?

Thank you for making it this far. Happy weekend!
